Airtable Pricing 2027: Plans, Record Limits and Real Costs

What happens when you hit a limit
Airtable does not lock your data. When a base reaches its record or attachment limit, you can still use it, but you cannot add records or attachments until you upgrade. Automations and API calls stop at your plan's cap until the next month.
How to pay less for Airtable
- Give view-only access to people who don't edit: they are not billed.
- Use forms to collect data from clients or colleagues: submissions are free.
- Split large bases only if your workflow allows it, since limits apply per base.
- Choose annual billing to save 17%.
- If you are near 50,000 records on Team, compare with self-hosted NocoDB or Baserow, which have no record limits. See our Airtable alternatives.
Is Airtable worth it?
For teams that rely on linked records, formulas and interfaces, yes: few tools match its flexibility. For teams that mostly track projects, monday.com or ClickUp cost less per user and have no record limits on items.

Annual or monthly billing?
Paying annually saves $4 per editor per month on Team and $9 on Business. Over a year:
| Editors | Team: yearly saving | Business: yearly saving |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $48 | $108 |
| 5 | $240 | $540 |
| 10 | $480 | $1,080 |
Choose monthly billing only if you are testing Airtable for a few months or expect your team to shrink.
3-year cost for a growing team
A team that starts with 5 editors and doubles each year, on annual billing:
| Year (editors) | Team | Business |
|---|---|---|
| Year 1 (5) | $1,200 | $2,700 |
| Year 2 (10) | $2,400 | $5,400 |
| Year 3 (20) | $4,800 | $10,800 |
| Total | $8,400 | $18,900 |
Which plan fits your data?
| Your largest base | Plan you need | Monthly cost for 5 editors (annual) |
|---|---|---|
| Under 1,000 records | Free (up to 5 editors) | $0 |
| Up to 50,000 records | Team | $100 |
| Up to 125,000 records | Business | $225 |
| Above 125,000 records | Enterprise Scale, or a self-hosted alternative | Custom |
Record limits apply per base, not per workspace, so several small bases can stay on a lower plan longer than one large base.
The API limit: important if you automate
If you connect Airtable to Make, n8n or Zapier, every read or write is an API call. The free plan allows 1,000 calls a month, which a single automation that runs every hour can use up in about 6 weeks if it makes one call per run (24 × 42 = 1,008). Team raises the limit to 100,000 a month and Business removes it.
Questions to ask before you buy
- Who needs to edit, and who only needs to view? Viewers are free.
- How many records will your largest base hold in 12 months?
- How many automation runs and API calls does your current setup use each month?
- Do you store many attachments? Storage is 1 GB per base on Free and 20 GB on Team.
