HubSpot Pricing 2026: Free CRM, Starter, Professional and the Fees Nobody Mentions

HubSpot's CRM is free for up to 2 users. Paid plans start at $7 per seat per month on Starter with annual billing ($20 billed monthly). Sales Hub Professional costs $90 per seat per month ($100 monthly) plus a one-time $1,500 onboarding fee, and Marketing Hub Professional starts at $800 a month with 3 seats and a $3,000 onboarding fee. The free plan is generous; the jump to Professional is where most budgets break.

HubSpot pricing at a glance

HubSpot sells separate "Hubs" (Sales, Marketing, Service and others) on top of one shared CRM. You can start with the free tools, add Starter on one Hub, and move to Professional only where you need it.

  • Marketing email: 2,000 sends a month, with HubSpot branding.
  • 1 automated action in email automation.

  • Removes HubSpot branding from marketing emails.
  • Marketing Hub Starter includes 1,000 marketing contacts and lets you send up to 5 times your contact tier each month (5,000 emails at 1,000 contacts).
  • Up to 10 automated actions in email automation.

  • Sales Hub Professional: advanced sales tools at $90 per seat on annual billing.

What a real team pays

Sales teams (Sales Hub)

UsersStarter (annual)Starter (monthly)Professional (annual)Professional, first year incl. onboarding
2$0 on Free, or $14/month$40/month$180/month$3,660
5$35/month$100/month$450/month$6,900
10$70/month$200/month$900/month$12,300

The first-year column adds the $1,500 onboarding fee to 12 months of seats: for 10 users, $900 × 12 + $1,500 = $12,300.

Marketing teams (Marketing Hub)

SetupMonthlyFirst year incl. onboarding
Starter, 1 seat, 1,000 contacts (annual)$7$84
Starter, 3 seats (annual)$21$252
Professional, 3 core seats, 2,000 contactsfrom $800from $12,600

The jump from Starter to Professional

HubSpot's pricing is designed around this step. On Sales Hub, moving from Starter to Professional multiplies the seat price by about 13 ($7 to $90 on annual billing) and adds a $1,500 one-time fee. On Marketing Hub, you go from a few dollars a month to at least $800.

That jump makes sense when you need what Professional adds: advanced automation, more reporting and tools for larger teams. It does not make sense if you only need a CRM and simple email. Many small companies stay on Free or Starter for years.

Annual or monthly billing?

Seats on StarterMonthly billing per yearAnnual billing per yearSaving
1$240$84$156
5$1,200$420$780
10$2,400$840$1,560

On Starter, annual billing costs about 65% less than monthly. If you are sure HubSpot fits, the annual commitment pays off quickly.

Hidden costs to watch

  1. Onboarding fees. $1,500 for Sales Hub Professional and $3,000 for Marketing Hub Professional, paid once.
  2. Marketing contacts. Marketing Hub is priced by marketing contacts as well as seats. Growing your list raises the bill.
  3. Seats on Professional. Marketing Hub Professional includes 3 core seats; more start at $45 a month each.
  4. Several Hubs. Sales, Marketing and Service are billed separately. A company using two Hubs pays twice.

Which HubSpot plan fits your situation?

  • A founder or a pair: the free CRM. It covers contacts, deals and pipelines for 2 users at no cost.
  • A small sales team of 3 to 10: Sales Hub Starter at $7 per seat (annual). It is one of the cheapest paid CRMs on the market.
  • A small business sending newsletters: Marketing Hub Starter, while your list stays near 1,000 contacts.
  • A sales team that needs advanced automation and reporting: compare Sales Hub Professional with Pipedrive Growth or Premium before committing; the difference over 3 years can exceed $20,000.
  • A marketing team that needs serious automation: compare Marketing Hub Professional with ActiveCampaign Plus or Pro, which start far lower.

How to pay less for HubSpot

  • Start on the free CRM and upgrade one Hub at a time.
  • Choose annual billing on Starter: about 65% cheaper than monthly.
  • Keep your marketing contact count clean; unengaged contacts cost money on Marketing Hub.
  • Negotiate the onboarding fee and seat count before signing a Professional contract.
  • Ask whether every user needs a paid seat.

Questions to ask before you buy

  1. How many people need a paid seat now, and in 12 months?
  2. Which Professional features do you actually need, and can Starter plus another tool cover them?
  3. How many marketing contacts will you have in a year?
  4. Will you need more than one Hub?

HubSpot pricing terms explained

  • Hub: a HubSpot product line (Sales Hub, Marketing Hub, Service Hub) sold separately.
  • Seat: a paid user account.
  • Core seat: a seat included with Marketing Hub Professional; HubSpot includes 3.
  • Marketing contact: a contact you can send marketing emails to; Marketing Hub is priced by these.
  • Onboarding fee: a one-time setup charge on Professional plans.

Three real-world scenarios

A 3-person agency that needs a CRM

The agency tracks leads and deals and sends a monthly newsletter to 600 contacts. The free CRM covers 2 users, so the third person needs Starter. Putting all three on Sales Hub Starter costs $21 a month on annual billing ($252 a year). Marketing Hub Starter for the newsletter adds $7 a month for one seat. Total: about $336 a year for a CRM and email tool that removes HubSpot branding.

A 10-person sales team that wants forecasting and automation

On Sales Hub Professional, the team pays $900 a month on annual billing plus $1,500 onboarding: $12,300 in year one. The same team on Pipedrive Growth pays about $390 a month, or about $4,680 a year, according to pricing guides. The $7,620 difference in year one is the price of HubSpot's all-in-one platform. It is worth it only if the team will also use HubSpot for marketing or service.

A marketing team with 2,000 contacts and nurture sequences

Marketing Hub Professional starts at $800 a month with 3 seats and 2,000 contacts, plus $3,000 onboarding: from $12,600 in year one. ActiveCampaign Plus at 1,000 contacts costs about $588 a year on annual billing according to pricing guides; at 2,000 contacts it will cost more, but still far less. Choose HubSpot Professional if sales and marketing must share one database; choose a specialist if marketing automation is the only need.

Common mistakes when buying HubSpot

  • Budgeting on the free plan. It is excellent for 2 users, but a third user triggers paid seats.
  • Forgetting onboarding. $1,500 or $3,000 is due once on Professional.
  • Buying Professional for one feature. Check whether a cheaper tool covers that feature first.
  • Keeping dead contacts in Marketing Hub. Marketing contacts drive the price.
  • Paying monthly on Starter. Annual billing is about 65% cheaper.
